25 June, exactly one week from now, NPLH will be three years old. After so many months without even a smoke signal, I might as well wait another seven days and write a birthday celebration post.
But it would not be right. It wouldn’t be nice to spend months on end without giving him any attention and come up with a little cheap gift for his anniversary thinking I have the right to blow out candles together and even be in the picture.
I am writing one week in advance to allow some time to apologise, to look back and regain confidence. Is this possible? I think so!
He was going so well… at two years old he was super excited, full on. Got a new look and even won a series of his own – not yet out of the first episode but still alive!
(anyone out there wanting to be the next “No Local Like“? ).
We began to write about our adventures in that other planet called India and stopped halfway. But why?
Because Miss Multitask here did not have a knack of adding her new job in the same round of juggling life, home, husband, travel and blog, and ended up dropping NPLH on the ground.
He stayed there during that initial adaptation phase but the time passed and he was moving to the corner, getting more and more forgotten.
Until I started to miss him, each day more. And when I finally decided to take a peek to see if he was still there, nothing broken, torn or faded, I was overcome by a sense of pride and admiration. He is so beautiful!
Reading the comments I was reminded how fun it was to spend hours here. Why was it that he fell on the floor again? But how silly, he’s nothing heavy, he makes our lives even lighter!
